Personal Growth.

Travelling allows for a lot more time to focus on things that maybe you don’t get a chance to back home. We believe it’s all about balance and there’s nothing like some personal growth to get mind and body back in tune. Whether it’s through creative and artistic expression, mindful meditation or just a sweet surf with friends, take the time to be present and enjoy all the cool stuff going on around you.

Cooking Lessons.

In partnership with local natural builders and sustainable service providers, we offer day trips to entrepreneurs thinking outside the box in terms of solving our global construction requirements. Roll up those sleeves and learn from experts who build with bamboo, earth, recycled goods and just about anything else they can to minimise their environmental impact. You’ll leave dirty, smiling, and full of practical ideas you can implement in everyday life.

Art Classes.

Life’s a canvas! Let your creativity flow with carefully curated Art SPACE Nights. We’ll get you sorted with all the supplies you need in order to, like, fully express yourself. Expect outrageous outfits, art related cocktails and worldly music.

Surfing.

With some of the best, most consistent off-shore breaks in the world, San Juan del Sur is known by surfers around the planet. It’s probably why a lot of you are here. We’re all about getting you on the waves and immersing yourself in the majestic Pacific ocean as soon as possible. Need some lessons or to hire a board? Chat to us and we’ll make it happen.

Spanish Lessons.

There’s nothing better when out exploring than being able to strike up conversations with locals and engage meaningfully in their country and culture. It’s a really important part of integrating into communities and preserving a beautiful heritage. Interested? Claro! We’ll help organise onsite Spanish lessons during your stay. You could also lend a hand and teach your language to someone else! We’re all about that too.

Yoga & Dance.

Our treetop yoga deck and outdoor gym is the perfect place to slow down and reconnect to your natural rhythm. With daily yoga classes, our tree-top jungle oasis will help restore your balance and bring you back to the now! Guest workshops and regular themed events will spectacularly transform the flexible space and create a myriad of amazing outdoor experiences.

Community Initiatives.

We’ve all heard the expression ‘it takes a village’ and here at the SPACE, we couldn’t believe it more. Get stuck in to some worthwhile projects and make a positive difference to local communities.

Love Local.

With the state of the world as it is, we strongly believe in supporting local industry as much as possible. The Space makes every effort to ensure that everything we offer onsite has as little impact as possible to produce. There’s so much talent and goodness around us that we take great pleasure in working with all the skilled ethical farmers, artisans and producers in the area to provide you with food, crafts, music and just about everything else that’s locally sourced with love. In fact, about 70% of the timber used on site to make the door and window frames and other items came from reclaimed fallen trees!

Play Ball.

With beautiful weather all year round, San Juan is an outdoor paradise perfect for sports and getting out and about. Working hand-in-hand with local organisations, the Space will be organising community sports days where the whole town can get involved in backing their boys (and girls) on the field. From baseball tournaments at the town pitch to volleyball on site, we believe there’s nothing like a little healthy competition amongst amigos.

Skill Exchange Workshops.

Are you a qualified electrician? An award winning botanist? Maybe you’re just a regular person who’s developed some pretty nifty skills. Whatever it is you do, we’d love to hear how you do it. The Space invites you to pass on some valuable information, life lessons and experiences to anyone else who would love to know more. We’ll be throwing regular workshops, expert talks, mentor programs and internships open to both visitors and locals in order to foster a culture of open knowledge exchange. Each one teach one!

Language Lessons.

Are you something of a cunning linguist? Maybe you speak in one language and dream in another. If you’re busy translating this sentence as you read it, we need your language skills at our free language clinics. Teach and learn another language as we offer free English lessons to the local community as well as host a variety of multilingual workshops.

Clinics.

Aligning our project with the needs of our local community is extremely important. It’s for this reason that we hope to work with local doctors, physicians, veterinarians and other medical specialists to provide a safe and clean space for them to offer their services at regularly scheduled medical and veterinary clinics.

NPO/NGO Partnerships.

Through a carefully curated network of like minded individuals and organizations, the SPACE is proud to partner with local changemakers doing amazing things for Nicaragua’s people and environment. From building homes to digging wells, there’s plenty of work that needs doing. Chat to us about our current partnerships, choose a cause close to your heart and get stuck in making a positive difference. Drinks on us afterwards!

Family Days.

Our staff and local community members are more like family than anything else. Through two years of blood, sweat, tears, we’ve put together a dream team that’s responsible for all the amazing things you see around you. In order to show love, we regularly throw community days where we flip the switch and welcome our local family and friends to enjoy some quality Space hospitality on us for a change! Get involved and help out with food and drink while they kick it poolside.

Community Cleanup.

We are nothing without the love and support of our local community. Join us on one of our regular Community Cleanup days where we hit the beaches for litter; river cleanups, help out with local building projects or lend a hand after a bad storm. Whatever it may be, we could always use some strong hands and big hearts to help us get stuck in.

Staff Development.

Here at the SPACE, we honestly believe that we have the best staff in Nicaragua! In order to show our gratitude for their amazing work, we are dedicated to upskilling and developing our staff through work rotation policies, free English lessons, performance incentives, micro-loans and more. It's always been one of our core philosophies that as we grow, they grow.

Educational Garden.

Let’s not beat about the bush here - Nicaragua is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and we feel responsible to help keep it that way. Here at the SPACE, we invite you to join our sustainable initiatives, both on and off site, to actively maintain the incredible beauty of the beaches, lakes and volcanoes that surround us. All activities are designed to ignite the spark within you to try and implement small but meaningful changes that positively impact our planet.

The SPACE is situated on four and a half acres of beautiful Nicaraguan land with roughly a third of that dedicated to sustainable food production at our organic permaculture farm. Utilizing age old organic Nicaraguan farming methods, we’re able to offer delicious farm-to-table produce with next to no carbon footprint. Stroll through our informative garden walkthrough or take a workshop to learn how you can implement some small scale farming back home.
